Baby massage

Baby massage is a wonderful way of spending time with your new baby. The health benefits of massage for babies and their carers are numerous. It increases lung capacity, improves the skin, and is wonderful for calming fractious, tired or hyperactive children. Regular massage of the babies' abdomen improves constipation, diarrhoea or nausea.

Our courses are taught over a number of weeks to give both the parent and baby time to learn and become accustomed to the massage. Each week a new part of the body is taught, followed by a repeat demonstration of previous classes thereby giving continued reinforcement of what has already been learned and new information. We teach a little at a time to ensure that you are confident with every aspect.

All of the techniques are demonstrated and explained fully by me on a doll, and you will then massage your baby, if your baby is asleep a doll will be provided for you to practise on.

We will discuss the details of the baby massage, explaining the benefits of the particular massage movements, with plenty of opportunity to ask questions, or go over any of the movements again.

The course is suitable for babies from 4 weeks old and the cost of the 4 session course is £45. This includes a detailed handout and a pot of organic massage oil.
